Medication Restrictions Pre-Procedure
- Stop ALL ASPIRIN CONTAINING MEDICATIONS at least 5 days before your procedure. **If you take aspirin for your heart or circulation, DO NOT stop it without checking with your family/heart physician.Aspirin Containing Medications
- Ecotrin
- Bayer
- Bufferin
- Fiorinal
- Lortab
- ASA
- Excedrin
- Percodan
- St. Joseph aspirin
- Enteric Coated Aspirin
- If you take anti-coagulants or “blood thinners” including: Persantine, Coumadin, Plavix, Lovenox, Aggrenox, etc., please call the Spine Center at 302-894-1900 to speak with a procedure nurse. You will need to get medical clearance to the stop the medication, and may need to get bloodwork done to check your INR/PT if you are on Coumadin.
- Stop ALL NON-STEROIDAL pain relievers at least 3 days before your procedure.Non-Steroidal Pain Relievers (NSAIDS)

- Fish Oil (stop for one week)
- Daypro
- Dolobid
- Naprosyn
- Feldene
- Vitamin E (stop for one week)
- Ibuprofen
- Indocin
- Ketoralac

- Mobic
- Naproxen
- Multi -Vitamin (stop for one week)
- Omega 3 Fatty Acids (stop for one week)
- There are NO RESTRICTIONS on the following pain medication:

- Flexeril
- Kadian
- Lortab
- Methadone
- MS Contin
- MSIR
- Neurontin
- Oxycontin
- OxyIR
- Pamelor
- Percocet
- Trileptal
- Topamax
- Ultram
- Ultracet
- Valium
- Vicodin
- Zanaflex
- Celebrex
- Lyrica
- Soma
- Skelaxin
- Duragesic Patch
